Increased controls from 1 September 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From 1 September 2022, in accordance with EU regulations, <strong>samples will be taken as part of the monitoring of the health quality of animal products<\/strong> and products of animal origin from the UK.<\/p>\n\n<p>Indeed, Article 49 of Regulation (EU) 2017\/625 provides for <strong>physical checks to be carried out at border control posts on products of animal origin imported into the Union<\/strong>, in order to verify that these products comply with the applicable requirements referred to in Article 1(2) of the same Regulation, in particular as regards &#8220;their safety, integrity and wholesomeness&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p>Each year, the French Directorate General for Food (DGAL) implements monitoring plans and control plans (PS\/PC) at Designated Border Control Posts (BCPs) on imported products of animal origin intended for human or animal consumption.<\/p>\n\n<p>With regard to the &#8220;Brexit&#8221; flows, and in order to allow for an optimal deployment of the PSPC, <strong>it was decided to implement them in a progressive way from September this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The randomly selected samples will initially concern the following products, before being gradually extended to all animal products and products of animal origin in 2023:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Fish and fish products (except canned) from aquaculture, intended for human consumption. <\/li><li>Fresh meat of bovine and equine animals, their offal and products thereof, intended for human consumption.<\/li><li>Poultry meat and products thereof, intended for human consumption.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>The sampling frequencies will be mostly between 3% and 5% of the batches.<\/strong> The sampling operations carried out by the SIVEP inspectors will require a variable amount of time depending, in particular, on the product concerned.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you would like more information on
