Period<\/a><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Enveloppe Logistique Obligatoire (ELO)<\/em> is a new feature introduced as part of the SI Brexit to <strong>facilitate the passage of goods across the cross-Channel smart border<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who is subject to the ELO obligation?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All road transport vehicles, whether carrying goods or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ELO objectives :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Consolidation of customs declarations:<\/strong> ELO will consolidate all a vehicle&#8217;s documents in a single envelope, simplifying formalities on departure or arrival in Europe with a single scan per vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Time savings:<\/strong> By consolidating information, the ELO speeds up the border crossing process for both imports and exports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Securing flows:<\/strong> This approach aims to secure the flow of goods and reduce the risks associated with passing through customs without proper declaration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Implementation of the ELO :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Transitional period:<\/strong> From the second half of April 2025, the ELO will be phased in for every freight unit crossing the smart border.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mandatory from 1 September 2025:<\/strong> From this date, the use of the ELO will become mandatory for all freight units crossing the smart border, even if they are empty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How does it work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>One envelope<\/strong> per vehicle, containing all the necessary documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>single issuer<\/strong>, responsible for managing the ELO.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the case of consolidation, all documents are integrated into a single envelope.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>single barcode<\/strong> will facilitate checks and travel between the UK and the EU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ASD Group helps you manage the
