{"id":196812,"date":"2025-07-30T10:55:24","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T08:55:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asd-int.com\/?post_type=mini_blog&#038;p=196812"},"modified":"2025-07-31T12:03:16","modified_gmt":"2025-07-31T10:03:16","slug":"abolition-of-the-4200-regime-what-changes-from-1-january-2026","status":"publish","type":"mini_blog","link":"https:\/\/www.asd-int.com\/en\/abolition-of-the-4200-regime-what-changes-from-1-january-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Abolition of the 4200 regime: what changes from 1 January 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The French administration has announced a <strong>major change to the rules applicable to imports under the 4200 regime<\/strong> for <strong>DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)<\/strong> transactions carried out by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>businesses established outside the European Union acting as importers in France, including UK companies.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What obligations will British companies face under DDP from 1 January 2026?<\/h2>\n\n<p>From this date, any British company wishing to import into France under the DDP regime will need to comply with new obligations:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Obtain an individual French VAT number<\/strong> (processing time: 4 to 8 weeks)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit a monthly VAT return<\/strong> to the French tax authorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit a monthly EC Sales List<\/strong> (summary list of intra-community sales)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit a monthly Intrastat declaration<\/strong> if the company is included in the panel defined by customs authorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>fiscal representative must declare all intra-community transactions<\/strong>, including those handled by another freight forwarder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Warning: without a French VAT number, one-off DDP transactions will no longer be possible.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why prepare now?<\/h2>\n\n<p>The processing time to obtain a French VAT number can take up to <strong>8 weeks<\/strong>.
