This tax applies to&nbsp;<strong>low-value consignments<\/strong>&nbsp;(less than \u20ac150) coming from&nbsp;<strong>non-EU countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Points About This Tax<\/strong> :<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is calculated for each imported item, in addition to customs duties and VAT, whenever a&nbsp;<strong>simplified declaration (H7)<\/strong>&nbsp;is used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Senate set the tax at \u20ac5 per item.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It applies to all types of imports: B2B, B2C, and C2C. The tax applies to metropolitan France, Monaco, as well as the departments of Martinique, Guadeloupe, and R\u00e9union, excluding exempt territories such as French Guiana and Mayotte.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The effective date will be that set by the 2026 Finance Bill, after the final adoption of the text.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This measure is part of a European initiative aimed at standardising the&nbsp;<strong>taxation of imported small parcels<\/strong>&nbsp;and limiting unfair competition in online trade.
