{"id":223192,"date":"2026-08-18T14:29:42","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T12:29:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asd-int.com\/?post_type=mini_blog&#038;p=223192"},"modified":"2026-08-18T14:30:00","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T12:30:00","slug":"sivep-new-obligation-for-wood-packaging-from-1-september-2026","status":"publish","type":"mini_blog","link":"https:\/\/www.asd-int.com\/en\/sivep-new-obligation-for-wood-packaging-from-1-september-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"SIVEP: new obligation for wood packaging from 1 September 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From 1 September 2026, wood packaging used for imports into the European Union must be systematically declared in TRACES when creating the CHED.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new <strong>SIVEP<\/strong> directive, received on 21 July 2026, introduces new requirements concerning wood packaging associated with goods imported into the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This obligation concerns <strong>any raw wood packaging thicker than 6 mm<\/strong>, regardless of the type of goods imported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which wood packaging is concerned?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following are particularly concerned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wooden pallets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dunnage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Closed crates transporting animals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corners and wedges in raw wood thicker than 6 mm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More generally, any raw wood packaging falling within the scope of the regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What information must be declared in TRACES?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For each consignment concerned, the following information must be transmitted to the TRACES service:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Information to provide<\/th><th>Detail<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>EPPO Code<\/strong><\/td><td>2DTRE, NNNWW, 1CONO or YXWOO depending on the type of wood<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Number of packages<\/strong><\/td><td>Number of wood packaging used<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Net weight<\/strong><\/td><td>Net weight of the packaging concerned<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>ISPM 15 Code<\/strong><\/td><td>Reference to the ISPM 15 phytosanitary treatment<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Country of dispatch<\/strong><\/td><td>Country of dispatch of the wood packaging<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Establishments must also be registered in TRACES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to allow the declaration of wood packaging, <strong>the establishment of origin of the goods as well as the final destination must be registered in TRACES<\/strong>.
