For those, the VAT rate will go down from 20% to 5.5%.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which products does the VAT rate reduction apply to?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>All these measures will be applicable to some specific products: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Protective breathing masks;<\/li><li>Protective gear (gloves, hygiene caps, overalls);<\/li><li>Goods pertaining to personnel hygiene (hydroalcoholic gel).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which operations does it apply to?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The VAT rate reduction on these goods applies to all operations performed on the French territory: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Importations in France from non-European countries (from China, for example);<\/li><li>Local purchase\/resale on the French territory;<\/li><li><strong>Intra-community deliveries leaving from France<\/strong>;<\/li><li>Intra-community purchases going to France;<\/li><li>Exportations leaving from France.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When does the VAT rate reduction come into force?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The VAT rate reduction\u2019s date of application varies depending on the types of goods and the types of operations: <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Regarding masks and protective gears:<br\/><ul><li><strong>Application of the reduced rate to intra-community deliveries and acquisitions <\/strong>performed starting 24<sup>th<\/sup> March 2020;<\/li><li>Application of the reduced rates to other operations (importations, local sales\u2026) performed starting 26th April 2020.<br\/>\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Regarding products related to personnel hygiene:<br\/><ul><li>Application of the reduced rate to intra-community deliveries and acquisitions performed starting 1st March 2020;<\/li><li>Application of the reduced rates to other operations (importations, local sales\u2026) performed starting 26th April 2020.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n<p>Currently, it has been decided that the reduced VAT rate will apply until 31st January 2021.<\/p>\n\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/affichTexte.do?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000041820860\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Legifrance<\/a> (in French)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In order to limit the cost of certain products vital to the world-wide struggle against this pandemic, France has decided to temporarily reduce the VAT&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":36,"featured_media":80621,"menu_order":0,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_eb_attr":"","_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[44,3350],"tags":[1983,1984,3351],"pays":[813],"class_list":["post-80910","mini_blog","type-mini_blog","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-all","category-vat","tag-all-en","tag-international-taxes-en","tag-vat-en","pays-france-en"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
