Registration to the \u201cspecified registration system\u201d will not lead to eligibility for an input tax refund (ITR).<\/span><\/p><h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Useful Information <\/span><\/h2><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The system will be accessible through Revenu Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s new online service which will allow non-residents to identify themselves in order to submit their returns and pay taxes each quarter. Each non-resident\u2019s identification number will be verified.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In case of misrepresentation, forgery or non-payment of the QST, fines starting at $100 or 50% of the QST due on the transaction will be applied.<\/span><\/p><h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Regulations to Come <\/span><\/h2><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another measure that will be implemented at a later date will specify that non-resident suppliers have to keep all documents related to the payment of the QST for a period of 6 years.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On 1 September 2019, non-resident suppliers located in Canada will also be subject to the mandatory registration system.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To find out if you are affected by the new specified registration system or for more information, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asd-int.com\/en\/contact-us\/\">contact ASD Group\u2019s experts.<\/a><\/span><\/p><p><em>This article is intended for informational use only and does not constitute legal, financial or tax advice.
