Ministry of Finance and Customs. It carries out <strong data-start=\"484\" data-end=\"529\">sanitary and phytosanitary inspections<\/strong> of goods coming from third countries entering French territory and the European single market.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"644\" data-end=\"973\">The SIVEP inspects <strong data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"696\">products of animal origin<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"721\">live animals<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"738\">plants<\/strong>, non-animal food products and animal by-products. Its objectives: prevent animal diseases, limit the spread of plant pests, guarantee food safety and animal welfare.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1207\">Since <strong data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"995\">Brexit<\/strong>, Calais has become a strategic entry point for trade flows between the United Kingdom and the EU. The SIVEP has certified facilities and a multidisciplinary team of inspectors and technical specialists.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1497\">Importers must notify their goods via <strong data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1279\">TRACES NT<\/strong> before any release for free circulation or transit. Controls include documentary checks, physical verifications and, if necessary, laboratory analyses depending on the product type and risk level.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1655\">The
