France: changes to the national minimum wage (SMIC)

Reading time: < 1 minute

Since 1 November 2024, the gross minimum wage (SMIC) in France has risen by 2%, from €11.65 to €11.88 an hour. This new hourly rate corresponds to a gross monthly salary of €1,801.80 and a net monthly salary of €1,426.30 for a 35-hour working week.

It should be noted that, although this increase in the national minimum wage (SMIC) was anticipated for early November, no further automatic revaluation is planned for 1 January 2025.

As a reminder, if you are a foreign company seconding one or more of your employees to France, you are obliged to respect the working conditions and comply with the new French regulations in force, in particular those concerning the 2% increase in the national minimum wage (SMIC).

If this is the case for you, we invite you to discover our brand new version of ASD SPW, our 100% online platform, which optimises and simplifies the administrative procedures involved in your obligations relating to the posting of workers in France.
