Reading time: < 1 minute

The Hungarian tax administration announced the introduction of a new temporary retail sales tax.

This tax, introduced with the aim of mitigating the economic impact of the Covid-19 crisis, was to be repealed within 30 days of the end of the state of emergency in Hungary.

However, the Hungarian government decided on 9 June 2020 to make this tax permanent.
