United Kingdom – Brexit – Foreign companies will have to appoint customs representatives established in the United Kingdom as from 1 January 2021

Reading time: < 1 minute

From 1 January 2021, the United Kingdom will be definitively considered as a non-EU custom country.

In this context, and in order to complete customs formalities for imports or exports, HMRC has indicated that foreign businesses will be obliged to appoint a customs representative established in the United Kingdom.

HMRC published on 10 July 2020 a list of customs representatives authorised to handle customs formalities in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.  If you would like further details, please contact our experts.
