Hungary has announced an increase in the Intrastat declaration thresholds for the 2026 calendar year. This change aims to simplify the administrative obligations of companies, particularly SMEs, by reducing the number of operators subject to intra-EU statistical declarations.
New Intrastat thresholds applicable from 1 January 2026
As of 1 January 2026, the Intrastat thresholds in Hungary are raised as follows:
- Arrivals: 500 million HUF (compared to 400 million HUF in 2025)
- Dispatches: 200 million HUF (compared to 160 million HUF in 2025)
Intrastat declaration obligation in Hungary
Companies carrying out goods exchanges within the European Union must file monthly Intrastat declarations as soon as the cumulative value of their intra-EU flows exceeds these thresholds over a 12-month period.
This measure is part of the Hungarian authorities’ desire to streamline statistical obligations, while maintaining reliable monitoring of trade flows within the European Union.
