Brexit – The EU-UK free trade agreement endorsed

In a previous article, we reported that the EU and the UK had agreed a free trade agreement, which included a number of measures to facilitate trade from 1 January 2021.

This agreement had been applied provisionally. Following on from this, the Council of the European Union concluded this EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement on 29 April 2021 after approval by the European Parliament and will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union for entry into force on 1 May 2021.
