We mentioned this in July 2025: the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) was initially due to come into effect on 30 December 2025. This deadline has now been postponed. A one-year delay was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 23 December 2025.

Regulation (EU) 2025/2650 now sets the application of the EUDR from 30 December 2026, with a date of 30 June 2027 for small and micro-operators.

Adopted in June 2023, the EUDR aims to combat deforestation and forest degradation by prohibiting the placing on the European market or export of products derived from deforestation after 30 December 2020, thus contributing to the protection of forest ecosystems and the fight against climate change.
