Companies in the European Union (EU) can obtain temporary suspensions of customs duties for raw materials or semi-finished products used in the manufacturing of finished products for which there is no production within the EU.
If you are a producer of an identical, equivalent, or substitute product, you can object to the implementation of this measure by submitting a duly completed objection form in French and English to the tariff and trade policy office (COMINT3) of the French Directorate-General of Customs.
Given the demands of the calendar of meetings in Brussels, objections must be sent to the COMINT3 office:
- by 6 November at the latest: for suspensions and quotas already in force.
- by 6 December at the latest: for new applications or applications to amend existing measures.
