On 28 June 2024, the Finnish Parliament passed Bill HE 61/2024, which increases the standard VAT rate from 24% to 25.5% with effect from 1 September 2024.
The new percentage will be applied to goods and services that are currently subject to the 24% VAT rate.
The tax authorities have published general guidelines on the effects of the VAT rate increase.
