Romania has made the RO e-Transport application mandatory since 1 July 2022. It has become the national control system for road transport of qualified goods with high fiscal risk.
The system implements and consolidates all the rules and IT applications aimed at controlling the transport of goods with high fiscal risk on Romanian territory.
The reporting obligation concerns all types of road transactions, such as :
- intra-EU acquisitions,
- intra-Community supplies of goods,
- intra-Community supplies of goods,
- stock transfers,
- exports,
- etc.
The Romanian tax authorities have published a list of goods considered to be at high risk of tax evasion and to be declared in the system.
Failing to comply with the provisions of the e-Transport obligation may be sanctioned from 1 July 2022.
