Brexit – Entry summary declaration (ENS) comes into force on July 1, 2022

Reading time: < 1 minute

Since leaving the European Union, the UK has gradually introduced new customs formalities at its borders.

As a result, the various obligations introduced are becoming more widespread. From 1 July 2022, all goods imported into the UK from the EU must be subject to an entry summary declaration (ENS) via the Safety and Security GB Service (S&S GB).

This declaration must be made before the goods leave. The ENS references must therefore be systematically entered in the export envelope, called GVMS (Goods Vehicle Movement Service), in order to obtain a GMR (Goods Vehicle Reference).

Without these formalities, the goods will not be able to:

  • Board the ferry or shuttle;
  • Cross the border.

All these obligations are dematerialised. ASD Group fulfils these new obligations on your behalf through its MyASD tool.
