As of September 15, 2020, the EU Member States’ customs authorities demand that applicants holding intellectual property rights and their representatives be uniquely identified. Therefore, applications for action must inform the applicant’s EORI number and the EORI number of the representative entitled to submit the request from now on. The purpose of this new obligation is to ensure secure access to the new EU customs portal, which is intended for operators to submit digital applications for action.
In absence of an EORI number, the customs authorities will not handle the applications for action filed by rights holders or their representatives. To obtain an EORI number and facilitate your submissions, modifications or renewals of applications for action, please contact us.
